A picture is worth a thousand words, and comics marries prose to pictures very well. Sometimes one panel tells an entire story. Here are some of my favorite single-panel moments in comics.

• An Alternate Origin for Wonder Woman: Sensation Comics gets Hippolyta more involved in Wonder Woman’s departure from Paradise Island.
• Lex’s Realization: Lex Luthor finally sees the world through Superman’s eyes.
• Sonja is Everybody’s Type: Gail Simone altered Red Sonja’s origin, and I love it.
